Dr. Leonard Sweet is currently the E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Drew Theological School (Madison, NJ), and Visiting Distinguished Professor at George Fox University (Portland, OR). Prior to this he served as Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Theological School at Drew University for five years. Previous to Drew Len served for eleven years as President and Professor of Church History at United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio. He is the author of more than one hundred articles, 600 published sermons and thirty books, most recently The Gospel According to Starbucks (2007). Sweet is a frequent speaker and conversation partner at conferences both in the US and around the globe. In both 2006 and 2007 he was voted "One of the 50 Most Influential Christians in America."
Dr. Maxie D. Dunnam is Chancellor of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. Widely known as an evangelist, leader, and a pioneer in small group ministries, he organized and served three United Methodist churches before becoming the world editor of the Upper Room Fellowship. He created the Upper Room Crusillo that later became The Walk to Emmaus. As senior minister he served the 6000 member Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis Tennessee for 12 years, before becoming President of Asbury Theological Seminary. He has authored over 40 books (most notable the Workbook of Living Prayer which has sold over 1 million copies), hosted the Disciple Bible Study Series, and lead many video/study correspondence courses.
James W. Moore is minister in Residence at Highland Park UMC. Prior to this position he was Senior Minister at St. Lukes UMC in Houston, Texas, an 8,000-member church. He is the author of numerous books including, Yes, Lord, I Have Sinned, But I Have Several Excellent Excuses and Some Things Are Too Good Not To Be True.
Dr. Thomas G. Long, noted author and Bandy Professor of Preaching, Candler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Long holds a Masters of Divinity from Erskine Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. He began his career as a preacher at McElroy Presbyterian Church near Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to becoming the Bandy Professor of Preaching at Emory, Dr. Long was the Director of Congregational Resources and the Director of Geneva Press, a Presbyterian Publishing Corporation. From 1989 to 1997 he was the Francis Landey Patton Professor of Preaching and Worship at Princeton Theological Seminary. Dr. Long has also been a Professor of Preaching and Worship at Columbia Theological Seminary. A noted writer in the field of homiletics, Dr. Long is the author of many well-regarded books and articles. These include: The Witness of Preaching, Second Edition, Beyond the Worship Wars: Building Vital and Faithful Worship, (Alban), Matthew, (Westminster Bible Companion Series), and Testimony: Talking Ourselves into Being Christian (Jossey-Bass).
Dr. James Merritt serves as Pastor of CrossPointe Church in Duluth, GA and is known as a renowned expositor and master illustrator. He is host of Touching Lives, which broadcasts his messages via television each week in all 50 states and 144 countries, and via XM Radio each Saturday. Dr. Merritt spends time each year training pastors at numerous seminaries, Billy Graham Schools of Evangelism, and the Spurgeon Pastoral Leadership Workshop. He earned his undergraduate degree from Stetson University and his Masters of Divinity and PhD from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. From 2000-2202, he served as President of the 16 million member Southern Baptist Convention. Dr. Merritt is author of several books and has been featured on television shows such as Hannity and Colmes and 60 Minutes. While Dr. Merritt's preaching is a verse by verse examination and explanation of the scriptures, it is his practical, down-to-earth delivery that leads listeners to apply the Word of God to daily living.
